Ronda Rousey Congratulates Holly Holm In ‘SNL’ Opening Monologue

Mixed martial art celebrity Ronda Rousey hosted this week’s “Saturday Night Live” and almost immediately addressed the Holly Holm-sized elephant in the room.

During her opening speech, Rousey’s first major televised appearance since losing UFC 193, she praised Holm on her win.

“It’s likewise the first time I’m talking to my love since I lost to Holly Holm in November, which by the road was a fight Holly deserved to prevail, ” she said.

“I just wanted to take a minute to sincerely congratulate her, ” she continued, deriving applause from the audience before rapidly lending, “That’s enough! ”

The rest of Rousey’s monologue was a riff on cliche boxing movies, terminated with Kenan Thompson acting as her tutor between rounds( of jokes) and Cecily Strong as our brand-new favorite resound daughter.

Rousey’s delivery, despite territory a few perforates, in our view chiefly missed the mark. But we welcomed the return of Kate McKinnon’s Justin Bieber impression and Selena Gomez closing out the sermon with “Come and Get It.”
